Matcha is a variety of fine, powdered green tea used particularly in the Japanese tea ceremony, as well as to flavour and dye foods such as mochi and soba noodles, green tea ice cream and a variety of wagashi (Japanese confectionery). The most famous matcha producing regions are Uji in Kyoto, Nishio in Aichi, Shizuoka, and northern Kyushu. The flavour of matcha is dominated by its amino acids. Vegetable Turmeric Soup Recipe from Distinctly Tea

Brew TEA and set aside. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan. Add onions or leeks and cook till soft - approx. 2 - 3 minutes. Add carrots and cook for 3-5 minutes or until softened. Sprinkle turmeric, garlic, ginger and cayenne powders on vegetables. Stir for 1 minute to coat. Add broth, tea, salt and pepper and bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat to low. Add cauliflower cooking till softened; approximately 10-12 min. Add beans and spinach or kale and cook until greens are wilted. Note: Turmeric is a powder that can stain clothing very easily. Be careful when using.
