Cinnamon Syrup

A yummy sauce to put on top of pancakes, waffles, French toast or oatmeal – Flavour beverages like coffee, tea or apple cider – Topping for baked apples, ice cream, sweet potatoes, apple crepes etc.

1 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon granules
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine water, sugar & cinnamon in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes stirring occasionally until sauce starts to thicken. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Let cool slightly, filter out cinnamon and pour into a clean glass jar. Let cool completely. The sauce will thicken once cool.  Store in the fridge for up to 1 month.
